Our History

A Story of Sisters

"We are Aurélie & Julia,
two different but complementary sisters."

You + Me = Self

"I was born in France,
You were born in the United States.
I agree,
You don't agree.
I disagree,
You agree.
I speak from the heart,
You talk sense.
I draw and create,
You sell and analyze.
My head is in the stars,
You're down to earth. »

Julia: "I'm the designer of the duo, the one who designs the prints and imagines the collections. After graduating from the Penninghen School of Art, I started my career as an art director in a communication agency. But I quickly felt the urge to create freely, without constraint, and to draw designs on the best of materials: silk. »

Aurélie: "I am the rational of the duo, the one who thinks about strategy, organizes and analyzes. After studying in business school at HEC, I joined a strategy consulting firm and then Guerlain and L'Oréal in marketing. But on the eve of my 30th birthday, I have a strong entrepreneurial drive and I decide to take the plunge. Julia tells me about her project. So we say "You, Me, Self, let's go".

In April 2016, we create SOI PARIS
a different, original brand, which dares to use colour, offbeat prints and beautiful materials.

More than just clothes,
we create wearable stories...

Our Print Stories

At Soi, every garment has a story to tell, which we call a Print Story. Julia creates all her prints by hand, by drawing, painting or making montages from photos. For example, this iconic shirt"Mamie Odette" is inspired by a recipe for artichokes in orange that our great-grandmother used to make. Julia scanned the original recipe and painted the oranges and artichokes in watercolour to make a print. Our prints are trompe l'oeil and from near or far, you won't see the same thing!

The Passion for Beautiful Materials

Since the beginning, we have been committed to offering you an irreproachable quality around exceptional materials. This is why we have chosen to use fabrics of exclusively natural origin, ethically sourced and sustainably produced in OEKO-TEX certified factories.

Silk has quickly established itself as the best medium of expression for our colourful prints. It is a natural material, delicate and soft to the touch that allows the colours to vibrate. That's why our women's wardrobe is largely made up of silk pieces with clean cuts and easy to wear: the iconic shirtsilk, the essential patterned blouse or the perfect little silk dress.
